CEARÁ
REGION
The Northeast region is renowned throughout Brazil for the warmth of its people and the richness of its culture. It has created its own musical styles (Forró, Baião), transformed local stories into an original literary genre (Cordel), developed its own fusion of dance and martial arts (Capoeira), preserved a rich tradition of Afro-Brazilian religions (Candomblé, Umbanda), and elevated African culinary influences to create its own gastronomy, rooted in fish, seafood, and local flavors.

The people of Northeast Brazil are also well known for their laid-back and easygoing way of embracing life, valuing simple things such as friends, family, and leisure.
